I know that 1968 was the last year for a 390 or 428 FE 4V engine in USA big car production, but how about Canadian or export. Does anyone know? How about the last year of a Mercury 410 4V? 67 is the last year that I have ever seen. Alex

Dale, the 429 Thunderjet was the replacement for the "Q" code 428 PI that was used in the big cars. It debut'd in 1968 in the T-bird, then in 1969 in the Galaxies. I have seen many of these, and many 390 2v's in 1969, but I belive that the 4V FE was killed off in bigs cars by 1968. Alex

How about in Canada? They used FE's into the eighties as I understand. Alex

Alex, Funny you should ask! Just the other day I saw a 69 Galaxie XL with 428 emblems. Could not get close enough to verify ( it was moving )Emblems looked stock, not add on.Assume it was a Q code.
