Yeah.... get us all excited....then... :\hate to say this... but ya know how girls always ask "Does my butt look big in these jeans?"....well Kaylin... not sure how to be polite and kind here... err i guess i can't be slapped over a modem connection, can i?? Kaylin... your rear end is too wide 68 Cougar is 2" wider than 62-65 Fairlane , this may play havoc with tire and wheel choices, you'll likely need to either use wheels with a big offset (like Front Wheel drives use) or shorten the housing a few inches. My choice would be shorten it 2" each side to fit Maverick axles, this gives lotsa room for getting tires past the brake drum when removing/installing. narrow-assed Tom ------------------ 64 Fairlane T-Boltish thing 427 HR 4speed and another 64 the same but 428 4spd 53 F350 ramptruck 428 4spd 88 Ranger 5.0 5speed 'bout half of a 67 Mustang FB was a 390 :-( IP: 216.129.74.20 |

....unless it has 31 spline axles....in which case i'd change rims, many wheels with offsets for late model Mustangs will work .IP: 216.129.74.20 |

thanks tom p...you narrow-reared-guy-you!my little fairlane is going to go thru some transformations to hit her goal of a street-legal track ready mo-sheene.....i promise dad and david will take care of her! we will have to mess with the rear anyway so those big-phat-slix will fit the wheel well....i think shortening the axel is the direction we are going. i will keep ya posted! kk IP: 216.48.45.48 |

I want to comment on your rear-end......Currie Enterprises seems to have a good thing when it comes to rear ends. I had some rear end work done and the local shop sent my axles off to Moser to change the bolt pattern. I think Moser is in Ohio, which is a lot closer to Nor'Carlina than Currie in California. Moser can do anything for 9" rear ends.------------------ 1956 Panel w/429 Music City F-100's, 1966 GT-350 S/C Music City Mustang Club Don't focus on the destination....make the JOURNEY the adventure Visit my Web site: http://members.xoom.com/didgeytruck IP: 209.86.55.153 |
