What does a '73 Comet look like. There is one For Sale in Elko, NV. It has a 302 and sounds like it is pretty good shape. What would it be worth???

Check out my website at www.maverickgrabber.com . Click on Maverick/Comet Archives and then Photo Gallery.

I'd post the pictures here but geocities won't let me anymore

73 looks nearly identical to 74, the bumper may look a tad different.

I think the 73 has 8.5:1 compression ratio rather than the 8:1 I have.
check my site, link is in my signature, there's a pic of a 74 on the front page.

Will the 302 built properly this summer? wish I knew...

Okay, so it looks like a Maverick... That's the car I've been seeing around Elko and thought it was a Maverick.

Anyway, it has a 302 with new interior, stereo, rims & tires. I haven't seen it up close, but the body looks to be OK, but it could use a paint job..

What would think is a good price for it???

The price would really depend on what its worth to you? And the owner. But a really clean car with a good motor has to be worth
2,500-3,500? If you got it for 1,500 you would be getting a great deal!!

P.S. I have a 73 parts car. And the hood, trunk, front fenders are perfect. There are alot of other great parts left as well.

check the floorpans for rust, trunk bottom, etc.
mine was in excellent shape, floorboard was rusted fairly well and it needed a little work to the paint job, I polished it out and it looks great.
mechanicly, it was in great shape, all stock, as far as I can tell.
I paid $1200 for it almost 4 years ago.

ps: the interior had been done, decent stereo, new tires, original rims and hubcaps.
