Ok, just cause I'm nuts, and I love my little car, anyone kow where I can get plans(preferably simple ones, I'm no rocket scientist)to conver a ford tempo to rear drive? I know it can be done for 2 reasons, 1)They're set up for an AWD platform and 2)I've seen it done I want to make mine into a sleeper sometime, and was just wondering if anyone has ever had the same nutty idea or knows someone who has and can tell me where I can get plans to do so. If so, e-mail me at [email protected] or ICQ me at 60172000 Thanks!

Sorry nobody replied to this. I don't know of any such plans.

Although they came in AWD, you'll find the parts are pretty light duty. This platform was never designed to handle much horsepower.

But with enough money and a MIG welder you can do anything!

i have looked and none found. but i have seen them (rwd tempo's) at the track i would think a wheel tub 4-link set up would get the job done. i have been looking into this myself for some time, my work 93 tempo screams for MORE POWER and i will get it done somehow. plans are the biggest wheel tubs i can fit narrowed 9", a hot 302 or 351w auto trans blown would be nice but not afordable (yet)nitrous probably and mabye a shute for looks.
my other car that i wanted to do this to was a 87 EXP i had planned on a wheel tubs and leaving it FWD with a car seat for our first boy between the tubs, but along comes another grrl and shot those plans out the window

Well, due to time and money restraints, the project has been put on hold indefinately

Thing is, I've got school in October, and I'm moving right after school next year, which doesn't give me much time to do anything, and right now, I need reliable transportation, which, as for the moment, my poor tempo isn't It's CV's are shot, and the tierod ends are on the way out too. On the other hand, I am going to keep the car, but for now, I'm going to bust my ass and get a job and either get another F-150 or and t-bird, decision hasn't been made yet.

I might pick it up again further down the road, with some more ideas at hand, and well, I've already got it planned out So I know what I'm doing with it, and I've decided for money reasons, that I would look for the 3.8 v-6 outta a t-bird SC to dump in it

But like I said, for now, iit's on hold indefinately Just don't have the money or time, and like I said, in a year, I'm more then likely moving to North Carolina, and whatever car I have at the time, is going with me, not the tempo, it's goiing to stay in CT

But thanks for all the help, both here, and in Ford Racing, you guys have been a great help, and very informitive
