OK guys ya said you wanted more Cougar people. Here I am. I have a 1968 XR7-G with a 390 FE block in it. It is kind of humorous about the CAt guys bad mouthing Stangs. Most of them buy their parts from Mustang places. I reside in the sunny funny state of California. Went to the Fabulous Fords Forever last Sunday, what a trip. Every kind of Ford you could think of and some you couldn't including a 300 MPH flathead.------------------

By the way, I am looking for a 4bbl intake for the 390 (aluminum). I want a Ford unit not one that says Cobra. I will let the mustang guys have the Cobra stuff and being as they didn't make one that says Cougar I will have to stick with straight Ford.

Sun roof, 390FE, leather enterior, XR7G medalions, lucas driving lights, and the pink slip. Also have the original owners manual. This car was originally a Hertz rental car so the door tag says Ford Motor Company, Special Performance Options. As I understand it only 177 of these cars were made. This one has sat covered in a garage for 16 years.

The FE blocks are more fun because you get to tear your hands up every time you want to change spark plugs. I have been thinking about putting a set of Pro-Comp headers on the car and I actually think it is easier to pull the motor and put them on instead of trying to do it with motor in.

I am going to a wine festival in Santa Barbara this weekend (have to keep my new bride happy) but the following weekend I am going to try to fit in a set of super comp. I thought about the 428 CJ cast irons but if I am going to go to the trouble I might as well do it right. I may go ahead and detail the engine bay while I am at it. Have you seen the power rack and oinion they have for the Cats and Stangs now. By the way us old codgers used to call Mustangs Muskrats or moosetwangs. Mainly because in those days we all drove bowties.

Gary I'll agree on the super comps. It's about the same amount of work, with a better payoff. Muskrats or moosetwangs I always said that the early Mustangs were girls cars.Just because in High school just about every other girl had one. Boy was I wrong,I still alot girls driving them. But now they stop to talk to me about mine. SCOOP

If I have to I will go to the Edelbrock, but I would prefer to stay with factory motor stuff. What I would really like is a set of the original 3-2's but that is a bit more green stuff than I can afford right now.
