Has anyone seen the new Saleen Convertibles.. If they are as fast as they look and sound,, then they must kick but..The one we saw was Midnight Blue with Chrome Spokes.. Silver or White Saleen striping.. The exhaust had tuned exhausted tips.. Sounded great.. Might do that to the '66..) There was a Yellow Saleen inthe local Autotrader.. I think Southern Cal has some rich dudes.. ------------------ Don '66 Fastback 302 with 5 speed Royal Blue Metallic w/Ghost Flames https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/BigD.html '94 Mach Z 925cc Precision Kit,, Long Track,, Ghost Flames ASAP.. Yep, I get to see 'em somewhat often. The dealer up in Glen Burnie is Saleen authorized...only dealer in MD. When I last had my car in for maintenance service, I went out to the front lot to look around...there was a 2003 Sonic Blue Saleen S281 coupe out there. I about died. That Sonic Blue color is SO AWESOME!! I took my mom up that afternoon to show her too. It was just an amazing car.Herein lies the problem though. The supercharged version pump out 375 horsepower, and cost about $5K-$7K more than the Cobra. ??? Paying for the name I guess. Maybe the extra stuff too. The standard S281 coupes start at $35K, but they only have an extra 20 horses or so over a GT. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

The convertible we saw was a S281.. It had Super Trap Mufflers.. The sound was HOT.. Especially with the sound of the Super Charger Whining in harmony with the exhaust.. It was screaming to be let loose.. and,, if sonic blue is dark it is beautiful.. Joyce,, Saleen is MORE Beautiful.. Don [This message has been edited by Big D (edited 12-27-2002).]

Bob Bell?? Good dealer but sloppy mechanics. Had the inter-cooler recall on the Lightning done there and they left a 2 ft. prybar laying across the radiator support. Had the wiper motor recall on the Lightning done there too and they busted up the cowl cover... ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 351C 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 5.4 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'life's tough... it's tougher if you're stupid.' Paul, that is the one. Big D: No, Sonic Blue is more of an actual pure blue, with just a hint of purple to it. That deep blue you saw was what Ford calls "True Blue." I like the Sonic Blue much, much more. True Blue is nice, but Sonic Blue...oh man. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

I tried to convince her grampa that I can get her a namesake car "2001 Saleen" and save it for her sixteenth b-day. You know take it out for a little ride now and then... Grampa is a grouch! He said NO! BTW - Mike and went on a late night cruise a few nights ago. Ended up at the local Saleen/SVT Ford dealership. They had a very nice gray Saleen convertible right out front! Woooo Weeeee is it nice! J.

I think there is also one south of Waldorf somewhere....Indian Head maybe? or La Plata? I have a buddy that lives over there and he's gone by a dealer that has them. Nice looking cars, but I'd be hard pressed to cough that hard and not get much more than a graphics/suspension/brakes package. I have the same issues with Rousch. Until you get to stage III, there ain't much to talk about, and by then all there is to talk about is the $$
