The first thing I did to 93 LX was to chuck the stock exhaust for a Flowmaster Force 2 cat-back setup. I really like the way they sound, but I've heard a lot of other 'Stangs since that have a much nastier note under WOT. I don't necessarily want a louder exhaust note but I think I'd like to have a more aggressive sound when I get on it, if you know what I mean.Has anybody here ever changed from Flowmaster 3-chambers to something they like better? Any input will be appreciated. Dave IP: 63.169.122.219 |

Dave, I have the Flowmaster 2 chambers on my 'stang. Have you ever heard the 2000rpm drone they produce? It bothers a lot of people, but I think it sounds sweet. It's my understanding the Dynomax "Super Turbo something or other" sounds exceedingly awesome and MEAN at WOT, but more mellow at idle. It also doesn't have the 2K rpm drone from what I've been told. Stewart [This message has been edited by Stewart (edited 09-22-2000).] IP: 152.163.197.202 |

Hey Stewart. I've heard of, but never heard the 2-chamber drone. My 3-chambers have a mid-rpm drone too. If it was much worse I don't think I'd like it.Get those headers on yet? IP: 209.20.225.85 |

I've got the MAC cat-back on my 94 5.0 and it sounds real nice. But YES, it has the dreaded 2000rpm drone. Just ask Steve!Fyunny thing is that I never hear it when I amin the car by myself. Must have something to do with the radio Mike IP: 38.30.8.12 |

I had the 2.5" Dynomax SuperTurbos on my 89 GT and they were GREAT. Mellow and deep at idle, and absolutely howled under full throttle. Not nearly as raspy as either Flowmaster muffler and gave more of that big-block sound. I still had cats on my car, but I hear that they sound even better with an H-pipe.They did have a bit of a drone at about 1800-2000 rpm, but not nearly as bad as 2-chamber Flows (which is what quite a few of my friends run). In case ya haven't notcied... I liked the Dynomax! Man, I have to get me another 87-93 5.0 soon. I found a nice 87 T-top model in the same colors as my 89 GT (Oxford white/titanium lower on grey cloth) with only 75,000 km (less than 47,000 miles) for $8,500Cdn that is very tempting. I get the 'evil eye' when I mention it though. Lisa wants one of those 1996 Dodge 'Official Trucks' before I get another toy. i have a pair of floII's on my point with shorty headers, h-pipe, no cats, and is carburated and when i jump on it anything past 2500rpm, straight NASCAR (sound that is). quote: Originally posted by wythors: The first thing I did to 93 LX was to chuck the stock exhaust for a Flowmaster Force 2 cat-back setup.
