I just finished doing the valve job ,and replaced the timing chain, water pump, added a 3 core rad, and spent half the time cleaning 10yrs of grunge, sure runs great now !! I can finally say, that my intitial investment of 1800.00 was worth it. With just a few cosmetics left on the body, I will be able to say, Im a PROUD M'Stanger, after owning many other Fords over the past 25 yrs, this is my 1st Mustang ! Now maybe I can find the time to get on with my 65 Cyclone project again, while crusin in the Stang. ------------------ Mike Cyclone's Famous Fords http://www.geocities.com/cyclone_427 ------------------------- 65 Cyclone 351W -current project 65 Caliente 200ci - parts car 88 Ranger 2.3 - Daily driver 90 M'Stang GT-AOD IP: 216.53.209.88 |

Hey Mike, that is too cool! Great job!Is the 'stang a hatch, a vert, or a notch? What color is it? Are you planning on anymore mods? Hmmm, that last question is probably stupid. I don't know ANY 'stang owners who aren't at the very least, PLANNING on future mods! How hard was that timing chain to replace? C'mon doood! Gimme the skinny! Stewart, Timing chain was pretty easy, once you take off all the front accessories, in fact I found these late models are no differant to work on, than the early models, except for all the spagetti wiring. As for any future plans, Im not planning on any at the momment, other than simple bolt on's, I plan to use as a daily driver, and occasional trip. Its a Hatchback, black with gray interior, and the UGLY turbine wheels.------------------ Mike Cyclone's Famous Fords http://www.geocities.com/cyclone_427 ------------------------- 65 Cyclone 351W -current project 65 Caliente 200ci - parts car 88 Ranger 2.3 - Daily driver 90 M'Stang GT-AOD IP: 216.53.211.187 |

Cool beans! Thanks for the info on the timing chain. I did one once when I was a teenager. I had no idea what I was doing, no experience, no book, and no mentor...I just did it, LOL! Needless to say, I screwed it up royally! Now anytime those words "timing chain/belt" are mentioned, I cringe! Hatchback huh? Mine is too...with a grey leather interior like yours Sorry about the turbine wheels. I don't like them either. When I FINALLY get my pics developed, Steve said he would scan them for me and post them in the members photo section, but I do have one on file that a buddy took. The quality of the pic is decent, but it's a large pic and I can't resize it. If your interested, I can send it to ya so you can see how chrome Cobra R's look on the our body style. Let me know.
