What would a set of complete heads off a 90's model cobra 5.0 be worth?

I have a good c4 trans with converter that someone wants to trade for.

The GT40 heads are no longer available new from Ford. The people that really cold use them are the SCCA American Sedan racers. That is the head that SCCA allows them to use. They can also use the GT40P head but that requires different headers and has smaller valves. I'm telling you what to do but I would offer these heads on a web site that caters to road racers. One suggestion would be "rrax-mustang".

I haven't got them yet. I want to know if they are worth trading for. Not that I plan to use them, but possibly sell them. But they must be worth as much as my trans for me to trade.

If the Mustang is a true Cobra (unless it's Canadian) it's a 1993, 94, or 95 Mustang Cobra. The only years the Cobra was available in the 5.0. If the car is a Fox Body, and not the SN-95, then it's a '93 (the only year the Cobra is available in the Fox).

Just call Ford and ask them how much a replacement set of heads are for the 5.0 Cobra. Factor in the amount of miles the used heads have on 'em and you should be able to roughly guestimate how much they are worth to you.

In my first post I stated that Ford no longer made cast iron GT40 heads. If they are true GT40 heads that should increase their worth. The only HP cast iron production heads Ford makes are the GT40P heads on the Explorer V-8.

Jim, I completely missed that! Talk about "If it were a snake, it woulda bit me!"

I guess that kinda takes the wind outta my idea about calling Ford!
