Which is better. I've been checking them out and of course they both say they are the best. I like the Powerdyne because it has a silent drive and doesn't have to be plumbed to your oil pan. The paxton I thin would be great because after all they invented super charging back before wwII. I own a 65 with a six and plan on modifing a super to work with it. Any idea's, useful info, or just plan personal beliefs would be a great help. thanks AlotKris IP: 12.75.41.57 |

Have you checked into BBK Instachargers? The problem with Powerdyne and Paxton is that the boost developed is directly proportional to the RPM of your motor. The BBK, on the other hand, creates somewhere around 70-80% of its' max boost right off idle. Just something to think about...IP: 204.201.210.165 |

Ooops...Your message is in the '79-'93 area, so I didn't see that your car was a 65. Paxton actually supercharged classic Mustangs (Shelbys) way back then, so I imagine that they would be your best bet. IP: 204.201.210.165 |

Tell me more about these BBK Instachargers... I take it they are for 5.0's. Do they have a model that will fit the SN95 5.0? How do they compare to a Vortech? I'll try to dig up some info on them. You've got my curiousity peaked. ------------------ Mike 1994 GT Convertible K&N Filter, 130A Alt, Sub-frame Connector My Piece Of The Web

"With the introduction of our new Instacharger Supercharging System in 1995, we caused quite a stir with other supercharger manufacturers by offering a truly OEM quality package for the popular 5.0 liter Mustang at a price competitive with the much less sophisticated centrifugal units. With its standard self-adjusting belt-tensioner, built-in bypass assembly and instant boost characteristics - this new supercharger has been able to beat other blowers performance on every level. To continue to bring enthusiasts this OEM quality and impressive performance with other popular applications, our engineers have been hard at work designing other packages for such vehicles as the Ford Explorer and Ranger, which will be available the Summer of '96. For more information on the new "Instacharger" supercharging systems please contact your participating BBK distributor.1600 1986-95 5.0 Mustang 6 psi Instacharger 1601 1986-93 5.0 Mustang 9 psi Instacharger" Main site: http://www.bbk1.com/ Picture of the Instacharger on a 5.0: http://www.bbk1.com/_images/d_instacharger.jpg IP: 204.201.210.211 |

That information came right from the BBK webpage. I am trying to find write-ups about the Instacharger, comparing it to centrifugal superchargers now. On a side-note: a friend of mine installed one of these on his '92 GT AOD car, and with the stock 3.73 gearing the thing was a beast. Accellerated so hard that he broke his tranny mounts.IP: 204.201.210.211 |

Thanks for the data. Hard to see from the picture, but was that thing bolted under the upper intake manifold? I would think that hood clearance would be a definite issue. Or am I looking at the picture wrong?Mike IP: 171.208.173.42 |

It appears that the perspective is from the right front. The unit mounts down the side of the motor. {where all the heat is, I might add.}------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Administrator Mustangsandmore.com Cherishing the Past, While Racing into the Future! IP: 208.161.31.113 |

I cant really tell what is going on in that picture. I looks like a roots type super, if so I don't think that I could use it on an Inline 6. I think that a centrifugal super will work best. I would go with a ATI procharger but I don't think the I6 could handle 25 pounds of boost. I think at best 9psi will do. IP: 12.75.45.125 |

The BBK Instacharger is on the passenger side of the motor. It is more similar to a Whipple Screw-Charger than a Roots-Type blower. If heat is an issue, you could always wrap your headers to keep the heat down.IP: 204.201.210.173 |
