The leaves have fallen...the last day of October is quickly dissapearing. The clocks were turned back last nite,(the one in the II quit years ago).. and today I once again turned back my memory clock as I took the II out for its last ride of the season and the century. This ritual that I have enjoyed over the past 23 years always brings back fond memories of springs, summers and falls past. The Cobra with its polar white and blue always seems to look its best against the backdrop of the fall folaige. The mere sight of a vehicle that most people would consider only summer driven one day before November in central NY state always brings smiles, thumbs ups,and admiring glances from other drivers and perdestrians. It's also a great time to drive a car that does not have AC. Just wanted to say too...that this year I look forward to many more Octobers to come thanks to the renewed and increased interest in the II's.. thanks to sites like this and many others i've seen since being exposed to this online world. The world has changed imensely since 1976...and attitudes about the II's are finally changing too. Just think...while perhaps not a classic in a true sense..the II's will be classics in an age sense very soon. I remember the point in time the car was 3 years old..as the new 1979 models were coming out..thinking the car now had lost its newness. By its 10th year,it was truely an old car of sorts..but still suffering from the negitive image that had been cast upon it since its birth (truly the low point in its life). By age 15..its rarity on the road was being met with many positve comments each time it was shown or driven. Now, at 23...it is being thought of as a fond memory of days past to many, while also being questioned to whether its an old car or a new model by those to young to remember! So...better days are coming i think. In the meantime...gather memories of your days past in your II..and get ready for YIIK..lol.

It the devotion of Mustang II owners like yourself that are bringing the Mustang II the respect it deserves.By showing the cars are still around and cared for, the MII will take it's place among other special interest car, and keep the marque in our memories. I am very happy to provide a place where MII enthusiasts can gather and keep the interest in this car strong. ------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Administrator Mustangsandmore.com Cherishing the Past, While Racing into the Future! The way all that was worded truly moved me, in a manner of speaking. It does show the dedication behind any die-hard II owner, no doubt about it. My little Ghia will be going through the winter; somewhat unfortunately. I'd rather it not, but when it's all you have to drive, gotta make-do. Just wish I could get a winter beater to drive around in and give the II it's rest. Spring time will be here before you know it! ------------------ Frank S. I put my II away with the odometer reading 149,302. The next time my 302 will cruise will be in the spring. I hope after school is done in February, I can get some work done to it.I figure my 94 Ranger will be at the same odometer reading by spring. I have 141,000 miles on it now. I gotta find another line of work..... Too much road time. ------------------ Motor Safe! George members.xoom.com/UnbridldFury Madness takes its toll. Please have EXACT change! IP: 12.73.105.145 |

Jeeez! All this nostalgia is enough to make me think you guys have been hitting the schnaps..."There I was at 28,000 feet flat on my back; Fokkers at 3 o'clock, Fokkers at 9 o'clock; everywhere I looked, Fokkers, and those Fokkers were flying Messerschmits..." George...its wasn't from Schnapps..it was all a reaction from the letdown of the last adrenelin rush I got while taking the II for the last run of the year down the street ..kinda like a P-51 Mustang on the runway attempting takeoff...then having to shut it down and delay the flight and fight against a boe tie Messerschmit till next year. Now go get that Red Baron pizza you've got burning in the doghouse out of the oven..have a few cold ones and keep your eyes to the heavens for Sky2K...its a new Stealth variant aircraft that is powered by a fuel mixture of Schnapps, Sunoco avaition fuel, and refined EGR fumes from a Mustang II that has been running and hooked up to a refinery tank for 25 years.
