I was at a light a little while ago and some loser in a riced out Del Sol up ahead is in the right lane revving his mini-mill at the lady putting on her make-up in the VW Golf in the left lane. Some teenage guy starts to cross the road against the walk sign sign and our light turns green. Mr Del Sol revs up to 9000 and dumps his clutch and comes within a millimeter of running over the kid crossing the road.

First rule of racing: LOOK AHEAD!!!!

It was fun watching him afterwards, that Del Sol redlining and doing about 40!

What planet are these guys from?

Thats why you should never cross the street against the no walk sign. It's just not safe anymore.

Yes I know what you mean about the ricers. They do that to wife's v6 Accord all the time. They has she is putting on her make she smokes them. It's funny stuff because she's a great driver, and has had lots of practice racing. So she acts as if they are not even there.

It's rice season, here all season.Any time is a good time for rice.

Had that happen to me at a light in nanaimo, I was in the 65 fastback , the puke punk was in a prelude , he,s reving the sewing machine, and , giving me the high sign, I gave it back to him. The light goes green, he goes red-line dumps the clutch, and , about 2 seconds later dumps the tranny. I,m still sitting at the light, laughing my a## off, as , a cop rolls up with his lights going and a not to happy look on his face. I saw the cop about 3 or 4 cars behind me in my lane, never had any intention of racing the ricer. When I drove past the puke punk in the prelude he gave me the nastiest look I have gotten in a long time. I just smiled flipped him the bird , and , continued down the road. I,m sure he is still pissed at me . When you drive a classic you know all the classic tricks, and , can teach the ricers a thing or two . I was quite proud of myself for that one.

The funniest part was afterwards. He was wringing the snot outta that thing and he was barely keeping up with traffic. I had no idea those things were that slow!

Another thing I thought was odd was that the kid on foot was the third pedestrian I saw almost get hit today. One guy starting crossing the road and didn't even look until he was halfway in the road and a car was almost locking them up! Duh, don't they teach you how to cross a street before you even start kindergarden?

They run mid 16s.

Ricers are my inspiration for having a really fast street car. Just so I can beat the rare fast ones.

MIKE,
Sorry I left that out, never really thought about it , but , you are right. Pants were down at his knees , decals all over the car windows( nothing like advertising for the thieves ).No hat, but head shaved bald, with a bandana. That is why I call him a puke punk. This was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time, like I said before, Iam quite proud of how it turned out

I don't race them on the street, only at the track. I'll take the "embarrassment" of losing to one at the stoplight rather than have to pay a heavy fine or lose points on my license for stupid **** like that. At the track though...anything goes. Since none of them have a concept of what reaction time is, it's a cakewalk, since I also have the faster car by a ton, as well as two to three tenths off the line. Never lost to a ricer yet Then again...I've never lost to a Mustang either...

Buff Daddy,I agree with you on the street racing is not the smartest thing to do.Do tot fines and the points,it helps alittle to know alot of the local cops.
I do how ever love a street race as long as no other cars are around. It's on a back road, adn theres no one walking in front of use.If the conditions are right I'll go for it.If not I'll just let them go.
I really like racing at the srip better,I just cant wake it as much as I would like.

SO DONT RACE ON THE STREET IT'S NOT SAFE AND CAN AND WILL GET YOU IN TROUBLE.
