Lol, taking from Alex's post I wonder how many of you love Christmas as much as I do? Its not the whole gift giving thing as much for me these days. I love giving people gifts (I would rather spend my money on others and see them happy than spend it on myself) and do it all year round, I dont feel that I am obligated to do it this time of year, its just a good excuse for me. I like the whole idea of getting together with family and friends. Most people seem to get nicer this time of year too and I always seem to get a good feeling inside. To those who hate it, just relax, stop stressing and enjoy it . Christmas season is what you make of it .

I do...I do... Let's hope someone keeps a tab on this post!!

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year!!!! No, I don't max my credit cards. In fact, I don't even use them. I get presents for people that I WANT to, not those I HAVE to. I certainly do not feel that anyone should go into debt for Christmas. That is NOT what it is all about.

Yes...I LOVE Christmas time!!!!

Me too, sort of!! I really love Thanksgiving (Tim can atest to that) and I absolutely love Christmas, but only when it gets to about a week away. Then I get totally pumped and excited about the gift giving spirit, but I also get really turned off with all the commercialism. But more than anything I like the week between Christmas and New Years, enjoying the gifts I gave and the ones I received and total overload on college football (I can't get enough of that!!)

The commercialism just makes me laugh! It's humorous to me!

As for you question Tim, I raise my arms and jump as high as I can to indicate that I'm one of what seems to be a rare few here at M&M (for shame) that absolutely loves this time of year.

The Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season assures me that my whole family will be together under one roof.

When my brother, his wife, and two girls come down from Folsom...and my sister, her husband, her 4 sons, and for the first time ever, her 5 month old baby girl come down from Oregon, we all have a really fun time together!

Our family is close, and we enjoy the rich holiday tradition that's been cultivated by my parents.

I'm surprised I'm not in the majority, when it comes to feeling this way.

I have a lot of great memories from throughout the year, not just during Christmas.

But for me, Christmas has always been family.

Christmas has always been special.

Christmas has always been joyous. Even when we spent it with dad in the hospital immediately following his first open heart/bypass surgury back in '73.

Yeah...I LOVE Christmas!

I love the part of Christmas after all the shopping, cleaning, cooking, wrapping, etc., etc., when the family just sits down and enjoys a good meal and quiet time together. I love when the outside world seems to come to a standstill and everything is peaceful and quiet. It's even more special if its snowing, but that's a rarity here in Portland.

Actually... (Wayne, I'm not even going there)... Our family is also rich in tradition of getting together at either Christmas or Thanksgiving... Normally in San Diego, where the majority still live...

Both my parents are still alive at 85 & 86,,, and that isn't going to last too many more years. So, we're headed to SD, including my 2 sons. They don't want to miss an opportunity to be with their grandparents for such a special get together... Almost sounds corny, but it's true...

And while we're there,,, I thought,,, Why not play around of golf,,, maybe Mexico for a day... Are the Chargers in town...

Anyone who has worked retail during the holidaze can tell you what the Xmas spirit is really like. Humbug. As for people being nicer...I don't see it. Try driving or shopping this time of year. I wasn't going to add to the negativity, but I just don't see Xmas as being the "special" time of year that it's made out to be. I like the family thing and making folks happy and giving to less fortunate, but the rest I could do without.
