but instead I am at work . I got a call last night from a girl who was literally begging me to play hooky from work today and go skiing with her but do you think I could do that? No, of course not . It took me a good 20 minutes to convince her that I really couldnt go. I turned down a real life ski bunny, lol, wth... Why do I actually have to have a conscience and a good work ethic? ------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html [This message has been edited by I65Stang (edited 12-06-2001).]

I made the mistake of mentioning to some of my coworkers why I wasnt looking very happy this morning. For some reason they all asked me wth I was doing at work (those who know her were about to kill me) . Even my mom asked me why I went to work (shocking). What makes me real mad is one of the reasons I went was I was suppose to have a meeting with my boss and the big boss, guess what, it never happened. Oh well, there will be other times .------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Tim, If it makes you feel any better.... I ski with a bunch of nurses from work, drive together, go out for drinks/dinner after, and I have to watch what I say or do constantly or I get myself in trouble! Its a real drag!! hehehe We all have sick time so if we are 'sick' we still get a days pay; Sick can also mean stressed so skiing is OK. Feel better? Dave

Go for it Tim, why don't you call her? You only live once; you could get hit by a Chebbie going to work! I assume you ski in Lake Tahoe? Dave

That why I always found it easy to get promoted at the jobs I held. Most people see no problem blowing off work to play hookey. I was always around, got the job done, and moved up. That's how you get to retire at 40. {Like me.}

Nah, I knew you werent. Maybe I should try and explain that my job isnt your typical job. We do not have a set schedule (well we sorta do but its not firm) and for the most part if we dont want to come in we dont have to (like if we have to study or do homework or something) as long as we get ~16 hours in a week. We got hired under these terms. My boss has been getting pretty weird about everything (he stresses waaaay too much), I think the big boss needs to remind him what exactly these internships are. In the old days I wouldnt have had a problem not going in but since the weirdness I felt I needed to (thus my debating). My moms comment was based on how it really use to be, still shocked me. She is one that has never called in sick even when she was sick (she is a head start teacher), my dads the same way. Yeah, yeah, it sucks having a work ethic . ------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy http://all.at/mustang https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Ya, I'll come to work sick and not take a sick day. That way I can share my germy germs with everyone. Then, I'll save my sick day and call in unexpectedly when I'm well (while everyone else is sick). Usually I'll do something, like go to Atlanta, Raleigh or Reno or something like that.....ya know.... Yup.....having a work ethic sucks!

Steve I to have always been around no hookey,2 weeks of vac,in 13 years.No weekends off,always a yes man.And no chance in hell of getting out by 40. I have worked my up as high as I can get.The only thing left is to buy the business,still no way out by 40.Wrong career choice on my part. Ron, find a place that appreciates you more. You'd be amazed at what some people earn in sales. A guy that hustles can make some good money, you just have to sell the right product.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC My Photo Page Christmas shopping?
