Hello everyone! I just registered late last night in the racing forum and got such a great response that I thought I should post here and sort of introduce myself. I am in the process of restoring and modifying my '70 Mach 1. I have a 351C-4V that is still being "thunk out" as for final assemby. I swapped the dead FMX tranny for a C-6 (I know a lot of people prefer the C-4). So far the body has been straightened, but sits in DP-40. I have finished the engine compartment (mostly), the rearend is also new with 3.89 traction lock and Dutchman 31 spline axles. I have replaced the driver side floor pan and have the passenger side in work. I have lowered the upper A-arms 1.5 inches and added wedges to the ball joints as well as lowering and moving forward the tie-rod attatchment locations by 1.25 inches. I currently have some picture loaded at www.hevanet.com/rkwilson. Oh, and I made my own sub frame connectors, pics of them as well. Thanks to this forum, I have had no problem getting up the nerve to tackle some of the tougher parts of this rebuild. Its nice to see and hear how others solved problems. Always a lot of great input from a very knowledgable bunch that enjoys the same interests that I do. Thanks to all!!!

Welcome aboard Randy. Always good to have another Northwesterner with us. Are you acquainted with Duane (71resto)?

Thanks for the welcome! I am afraid I am not aquainted with Duane(71 resto), but if he is in the greater Portland area, I may have seen his car. I frequent a lot of our local shows. As for the link, I think you will have to drop the period after rkwilson and it should work. It looks like it saved the end of sentence as part of the address. I will keep adding pics as my project progresses. I love this hobby! Randy.

Welcome to M&M Randy. One nice thing about the C6 is that it is bullet proof, but the C4 is faster, lighter and shifts better. I sure do like the 69-70 fastbacks (But maybe I'm just biased )

Hi Randy, Welcome to M&M, great looking car, you've done some real nice work, those skateboards and Tonka dump drucks make excellent dollies don't they. Be careful in your garage, I think I saw a tiger lurking under the car.------------------ Stuart MCA #48902 67 stang 5 speed 91 f-150 xlt 98 explorer xlt sohc v-6

Howdy Randy and welcome to M&M!! We are neighbors, considering I live in Milwaukie and also hit most of the local shows. I have a light blue metallic '73 Mach 1 and a primered (at least the back half) '71 fastback that I enter in most of the "under construction" classes at the locals. Seeing as how you can't make Reno you might want to make our clubs annual show, the "Mustang Stampede" at Clark College in Vancouver. Anyhow welcome to another Portlander!! ------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (under resto) 73 Mach 1 M&M Member #730
