OK the centuries young and I know some of the folks here won't like me bringing this up on this forum given the nature of it but I was talking to an older woman I work with today and she was telling me about a car her husband is selling. Turns out he bought this car about 20 years ago and had some carburetor problems about 8 years ago and parked it out back now he just wants it out of the yard. So I went over and looked at it thinking her description must be wrong. It sounded too good to be true. It wasn't! 1972 RS/SS 396 Camaro with matching #'s ( one of 300 in 1972 ) ,absolutely straight body , decent paint, split RS bumpers with actual RS rubber grill molding, crappy smelling interior, 4 speed close ratio muncie .......... $1000 Yes thats ONE thousand dollars. It doesnt run but it can be made to. I'd be a fool to pass it up. My wife will kill me.

Let's take up a collection and burn it at an M&M gathering, or use a hammer on it and then burn it. How bout rent a plane and watch it drop "like a rock!" LOL .

You mean you haven't already bought it??? What's the hold up. Chances are, while you're flapping you jaws about it, someone else is throwing down some green and taking home a rare car!The early bird gets the worm, buddy... Hope you're not too late. Did you at least give her a deposit? Selling that camaro could finance a LOT of mustang parts! The deals going down today. Anyone have any idea what these are worth?Actually I heard of a better deal . A guy I work with has a friend who will sell him a 1969 Mach1 thats a bit overgrown with blackberries for the princely sum of $200. Theres a lot of stuff like that here. Take a look at www.nada.com and fill in all information on the car. It will give a price average for your area. Or you can go to www.traderonline.com and do some comparison shopping there. This is the best advice yet,I say if got the thing running and not much did nothing else to it.The 72 is not the best year for resale. You should be able to get a fast $4500 + for that thing. You could get more but it will take alot longer to wait for the right buyer. All my inlaws are Chevy guys, but they are still cool aways. thats definetly a sweet deal, and keep the car if you like it. hey, i like mustangs and camaros too (like novas better than camaros but anyway). i run into deals that are sweet once in a while but i never buy because ive already got so much stuff. you know i used to be diehard chevy, but i bought a sweet 75 f100 because it was too good to pass up. the truck was so good in fact it turned me on to fords. i got the 67 on an impulse buy off a hyundai lot believe it or not, and got wife the taurus because of the saftey rating and good price tag. the fact is you, might end up liking this car. congrats and good luck.------------------ 67 coupe, 650dp and rpm intake on 5.0 with afr 165 heads, 4 speed, 4.11's.....best so far is [email protected] in 1/8 mile with 1.79 60ft. time.

therein lies the problem. Ive diverted massive amounts of coinage into the cougar in the last few months and the suggestion that I dump more money into another car leaves my wife cold and unresponsive and without a pulse and If I think that I'll have a pulse if I keep it, then my wife will surely prove me wrong.[This message has been edited by badazzcougar (edited 12-10-2001).]

Beleieve me this one lets me get away with a hell of a lot more than I could with past relationships. Cars are a lot more manageable than wives. Ive had 30+ cars since I was 14 but only 3 wives, 3rd times a charm in this case. Remember the old adage....It's cheaper to keep her ! If I built the camaro up I might have 100% of the car right now but within 6 months I'd only have 50% of it. Silly how that works.

I get the 'quote of the day' from someone. A friend put it on my puter when it was new. Here's the one for today!"The best way to make a good deal is to have the ability to walk away from it". -Brian Koslow- I gues maybe that goes along with that ol' song about "You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em". LOL! Having bought and sold a few cars, I'd be a liar if I said I didn't come on a 'good deal' and not be able to walk away from it! My wife asked me how I could buy such a POS! I shrugged and said, 'I drew the Old Maid, guess I'll have to put it back in my hand and let someone else draw it'! Someone did!! Your Camaro sound good! The real deal in horsetrading cars, is NOT to fall in love with them! Buy it, minimal clean up, turn it for a nice profit, and scarf up that Mach I before I do! LOL!

That car will cost a LOT of money to restore... from the sound of things, more money than you have to spend.Your only REAL option is to sell the car. This will give you "non-family" money that you can spend on your Ford GUILT FREE. It's the only choice. Take it to a big Chevy show and get rid of it. If you aren't too greedy, you should be able to move it pretty quick and make a cool $4k or so. Good Luck! ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367
