With over 350rwhp and 4.11s (when I get them), what would yall suggest for getting this thing to hook? The suspension is completely stock right now. When it gets back on the road, it will have a detroit locker, so that will help. I was thinking SSM lift bars (to help with my current wheelhop problems) and comp. engineering adj drag shocks set to 70/30 and 50/50 for the street. I'd change em to 90/10 at the strip. Will subframe connectors make a big difference? Also, what front springs should I go with? If possible, I'd like it to be 1" lower in the front but still have a drag biased spring. Sorry for the long post and so many questions here. I don't know much about suspension. Please help me out here. Thanks!------------------ Neal 69 mustang 351C/toploader 4sp IP: Logged |

With a drag biased suspension, I would say the moroso fronts would work pretty well. As for subframes, do it your unibody will like you for it.------------------ Marcus Fast, Reliable, Cheap.... Pick any TWO of these words. 68 Mustang, still in purgatory. BOYCOTT EXCESSIVE MOTORSPORTS IP: Logged |

Would the moroso fronts allow me to lower the front an inch? Thanks.------------------ Neal 69 mustang 351C/toploader 4sp IP: Logged |

not sure, I don't have them in yet. They are only 242 lb per inch so I would assume so.. They are quite long, I am assuming to help store energy for weight transfer. The catalog's all say you can trim them to get a proper stance if you like. hth------------------ Marcus Fast, Reliable, Cheap.... Pick any TWO of these words. 68 Mustang, still in purgatory. Mr Wesson,As far as the rear suspension, I've had good experinces with both lift bars and OEM-type straight bars. Alot of it depends on what kind of weight transfer you get from the mods you make to the front suspension. Obviously, lift bars will lift the rear end and straight bars will cause the rear to squat. From what I have seen, the lift bars seem to help cars that don't transfer weight to the rear that well. I run an automatic, so there may be other considerations with a stick car that I am not aware of. Whatever choice you make, I would strongly recommend reinforcing the torque boxes and the upper control arm mounts! It's much easier to reinforce them before something happens than to fix them after you tear them apart. IP: Logged |

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT use the Moroso front springs in a Mustang with a small block. You will not be happy with the results. They were designed for use in conjunction with the 428 CJ. I don't care what the cataloge says, just trust me on this one. They are for big block use only. Thanks guys. I also just looked at the price of lakewood traction bars vs. lift bars... $36 vs. $126!! I hadnt really thought about it that much before. I think the traction bars would work better on my car, and the cost difference definately doesn't hurt. So, what should I do for springs?------------------ Neal 69 mustang 351C/toploader 4sp IP: Logged |

Go to your local NAPA or parts store of your choice. Look up OEM replacement springs for a 69 Mustang with a 250 six cylinder engine and no A/C. With A/C will work also. Those springs will give you the desired front end travel with the small block weight. MrWesson22, I installed a pair of MaierRacing Enterprises subframe connectors on my SBF w/4spd, '69FB and they do a GREAT JOB of keeping it straight down the track. Sure, you can find cheaper ones, but I feel they were one of my better investments! Take a look @ www.maierracing.com IP: Logged |
