I spend alot time on the racing forum too. Those guy have some real fast cars. And was wondering how many of you have raced your cars. If so what were your times and speed.I think every one should run their cars at least once. I raced the 1/4 mile with my '66 when it was a 289 with 4 speed.. That was a long time ago.. but,, it was a gas.. It was in Wendover, Utah on the there old run way.. The one that The "ENOLAGAY" trained at for you historians.. Trust me the Salt Flats are smoother.. Don [This message has been edited by Big D (edited 10-14-2002).]

There timing system was suspect.. I ran right at 15 sec flat.. Ran 3 or 4 times and my times didn't vary more than a couple of hundreths..Never did break into the 14's,, I know that much.. Don

Yes, I made about 7 passes at the local track in my 65 fastback. At the time I had the skinny tires and no headers and ran a 1/8 mile in a disappointing 10.34 That was my first time racing. Hopefully, I would be able to shave a couple of tenths off with the wider tires and headers I'm running now.------------------ 67convertible 289/auto 65fastback 302/4sp

As some of you might have seen i recently ran mine for the first time and got into the mid 9's.Best time was 9.52 @ 72.56 mph 1/8th by the way Im hoping to get into the high 8's or low 9's when i take all the junk out the trunk and do some minor adjustments. Ya Know Steve,, I think it did.. Actually the operation of the Wendover track is ???,, but it is a place to race.. When I ran my Mustang with 4 speed,, I did a little burnout,, Pulled up to the staging lights,, get all set to go,, let my foot off the brake to give it a little gas,, and it started rolling forward.. So I was TRYING to watch the Lights, Not Red Light, and not Stahl.. I call that a suspect operation,, when your staging area is not level.. And if you got a good strong Hole Shot,, a nice BUMP at about the 60' mark would just about turn you sideways.. ------------------ Don '66 Fastback 302 with 5 speed Royal Blue Metallic w/Ghost Flameshttps://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/BigD.html We Will Never Forget [This message has been edited by Big D (edited 10-18-2002).]
