Hi everyone,

Been lurking on and off here at Mustangsand more for a while and as I saw that my website was mentioned in a post I might as well join in.

My name is Han tlund and I live in place called Rimbo ~30 miles northeast of Stockholm, Sweden and that in northern Europe.

I have a 7 Mustang coupe undergoing restomodding, I owned it for two years, previous owners converted it from sixcylinder to 289, C4 and a N-case nineinch. I have fixed a lot of rust, rebuilt the engine and converted it to EFI and I have a lot of future plans for it.

Welcome to M & M Han! Do you know anyone else in Sweden that has an Early Model Mustang? The reason I ask is a friend of mine I met is from Sweden His first name is Torre'. I will have to look on one of his cards for his last name. Can't spell it or say it! he works for a company called Wartsilla they make large compressors for the company I work for. Any way he has a cool 67. Says he goes to allot of your Rallys? whatever that is. He says it is sorta like a car meet.

Thanks all!

Yes, the letter in my first name is a letter in the Swedish alphabeth together with and and the ralated keys can be found on Swedish and Finnish keyboards. To write you can write "alt+0229" using the numeric part of the keyboard, you can also use "Charmap" if youe using Windows.

My name is pronounced "Hawk-an".

jsracingbbf:

Yes, I know a lot of other Swedish Classic Mustangers, Ie been in the car hobby for 25 years but the 7 is my first Mustang. I think your Swedish friends name is Tore, I not sure what he means with rallys. There is a motorsport called rally that is big over here in Europe and in some other places, but I of course not sure if that is what he means.

The American branch of the Swedish car hobby is big, we have cruisings, drag racing and a lot of big meets organized by the Swedish Hot Rod magazines and different clubs.

The Classic Mustang Club of Sweden has around 1300 members, the club is open for Mustangs from all years but the Mustang haven been imported by Swedish Ford dealers since the seventies :-( and there mostly Classic Mustangs in the club.

Moneymaker:

I sorry, I have no such pictures but I got a blond wife and daughter, but they have their clothes on as it getting cold up here in northern Europe at this time of the year.

The Swedish club got a website but everything there is obviously in Swedish, the url is: http://www.mustangclub.com you can at least go there and check out some of the pictures. Unfortunately the design quality of that website ain the highest but that another story.

There a Swedish Shelby registry @ http://shelby.nu/ and if you check it out you will find that the Swedish King has two Shelbys! Ie seen them both in His Majestys own garage (believe it or not) when I was in charge of the guard force at the Royal Castle. I a retired Swedish Army Captain, working with IT today.

Swedish Drag Racing goes back to 1968 when the first official drag race was held. I actually a Swedish Drag Racing Champion myself as a Crew Chief/Mechanic in 1992 when we won the Top Fuel Dragbike series. Have a lot of friends that is or has been active drag racers. It pretty much over here like as I understand how the sport works in the US with the exception of some really special vehicles like the "Carbon Fibre Hunchback Racing Volvo" and some others. Here a page with a lot of links to European drag racing pages: http://www.cascadeurs-stunts.com/fr/extrem-drag.htm "Suede" is the Swedish (and largest) section.

Welcome,
I do have a question for you relating to Swedens drag racing. Speed channel carries it occasionally. Relating to the USA 1/4 mile racing, what is the distance and units of time and speed. I get all confused while watching, I'm old and it doesn't take much to confuse me. Again welcome.

Yep, I the guy behind that wheels page. It started with that I wanted to check out my own tang with different wheels and then it got a little carried away...

I bought Weld Wheels Draglites for my 7 last weekend, kind of a rescue mission since they were used on a 8 Chevelle.

1/8 mile racing is also very common over here, but all the major events is over the 1/4 mile. Time is of course maesured the same way here as in the rest of the world but speed is measured in kilometers per hour. One Kilometer is 0.621371 Mile. A great place to convert measures of different kinds is this: http://www.onlineconversion.com

A couple of days ago I measured the nine-inch rearend on my Mustang together with my 8-year old son and I tried to explain how to measure using inches and fractions of inches and there you can talk about creating confusion, ha ha!

Han,,

You're just full of good information.. The site on conversions is very useful.. I like the story of teaching your son.. We have the same problems.. It's not understanding one system or the other,, It's understanding the conversions..

I have sent the conversion site to several of my friends,, they are inthe Energy Business..
