I have stock 14 inch rims that are not styled, with the hubcaps. The stock tires are 195/75 how wide in inches is that? I would like to go to at least 215/70's, or what ever size 215's are. How wide in iches is that? I would LOVE to go to 225/65's or somthing in a 225, will that fit on the stock rims? How wide is that in inches? If that wont fit, what size rims will fit those or even 235's hahah. Thanks very much!!! IIRC the stock rims are 5.5 inches wide. the 195 is a measurement in MM wich is roughly mm/25.4 = inches. so your 195's are roughly 7 and 2/3 inches wide. Every tire manufacturer varies, that's why its roughly. I had 205's on a set of stock rims and they looked about the max that would fit. To fit 225's you would need a rim about 7 inches wide, 235's can be crammed on a 7 inch rim, but in my experience it would be best to have an 8 inch wide rim for 235's. but all tire manufacturers are differentI think a set of 215/60/15's on a 15X 7 rim would look absolutely sweet... I will let another 65-66 owner comment on how big you can go.. HTH ------------------ Marcus Fast, Reliable, Cheap.... Pick any TWO of these words. 68 Mustang, still in purgatory. I'm running a 245 60 R15 tire in the back. I did have to cut the inner lip to avoid rubbing on the big bumps. I'd recommend a 8" wide rim, I'm using a 7" rim and coulda, shoulda gone wider.------------------ 2BAV8 Racing www.geocities.com/2bav8 [email protected] 1966 Restomod Coupe IP: 166.62.151.54 |
