I got a line on some heads from a 69' Mach I. The guy hasn't gotten me the casting numbers yet but I am wondering if any of you code wizards out there could tell me the possible casting numbers.

I may save him the trouble of looking for the casting numbers if there is no possibility of them being the "good" heads. Large ports/valves and smaller combustion chamber. Thanks.

That's a nice site Chip linked to
My $.02 is if its really a 69 motor they would have to be C9 heads...

Really? I haven't encountered a windsor with C8 casting dates. Are they the same as the C9 castings?

Yes Marcus, the very early 351W 4V castings are C8 pieces. We have a set in our shed. Alex

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I'll let him hunt up the casting numbers. That site is a pretty good resource. According to this it looks like all the heads from 69' to 77' are pretty usable for decent horsepower. I suppose there could be port characteristics that over ride the valve and chamber size. Too bad it doesn't have a column for open or closed. Thanks again.

Alex, that page never finished. Is that the whole URL or is my browser goofed? Nice banner though.

Something is wrong with the page. I'll investigate and see if I can repost it corrected. Sorry Alex
