Does anyone know if there is a company that builds good valve locks for the 351c with multi groove valves? I dont want to have to change all my valves unless it is really necessary.IP: 209.47.33.42 |

Comp cams makes some good locks for the stock multi groove valves, BUT the multi groove valves are only part of the problem. The other part of the problem is that the Ford valves are of a two piece design (I know that the exhausts are, not sure about the intakes) that are are known to seperate under even modest spring pressures and rpm. Given the thin cylinder walls of the cleveland they don't like it much when that valve head breaks your cast piston then cracks the cylinder wall. Been there done that. New stainless valves are about $200, and that is cheap insurance when you spend the money to build it right. Good luck, TomIP: 208.165.103.2 |

Tom is very right as the one of the best reliability improvements you can make is good one piece stainless steel valves but the original poster said he didn't want to replace the valves soo... ------------------ Marcus Fast, Reliable, Cheap.... Trust me, you want to get rid of those multigroove valves. They are a valve failure just waiting to happen. I wouldn't even use them in a stock 351C. ------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773 '72 Mustang Sprint 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac-Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC/CD4E IP: 208.161.21.200 |

If you must use the multi grove valves, Manley makes the best keepers for them. Alex------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator Fleet of FoMoCo's too long to list! http://superstockers.homestead.com/week.html IP: 205.188.192.184 |
