I've got a bud that has some, wants $600 for 'em, they need valves(1.94/1.54)rockers, springs, etc, brand new, never been used/touched. How would these do on a primarily street car? I want about 300-350 rwhp(I've gone up a bit, better job on the horizon)and decent low rpm power. I don't want to wish for the grunt of my old 200, around that would not kill me as long as it came alive later. what would compliment these heads? are they worth the trouble?------------------ 74 Mercury Comet 302 AOD 3:1 Will the 302 built properly this summer? wish I knew... http://members.tripod.com/red74merc IP: 207.157.60.20 |

Those heads should work great. Get a factory style cam like a B303 and let it rip. You shouldn't have any problems getting 1hp per cube using those heads in a good package. Something similar to the Edelbrock Performer RPM setup should do fine.------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big" IP: 24.160.5.56 |

The GT40X's are good heads, if you want a sweet setup call Ed Curtis at 401-828-9302. Ed does custom cams and is a generally great guy to talk to about the Ford small block. He has done alot of the cams for the injected crowd and can easily get 300 RWHP with great bottom end torque, he also has some good deals on roller rockers.Regards BillGear www.289mustang.com IP: 63.195.53.76 |

By the time you buy the valves, springs, retainers and the machine work to put them all together, you would be money ahead to go with Windsor Jr. already assembled. Just my opinion. Mike IP: 156.46.136.34 |

I agree with Mike. The heads are nice, but not very cost effective as compared to the Dart assembled heads. Alex------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator Fleet of FoMoCo's too long to list! http://superstockers.homestead.com/week.html IP: 205.188.199.171 |
