For those of you following my process, IT LIVES!! My truck started this morning. After I took the distributor out and turned the rotor 180* it started right up

Ran the break-in 30 minutes, and it just purred so nicely. Found out afterwards that the #5 spark plug wire wasn't even connected. DUH!!

So, after everything is done and said, I spent more $$ than I had budgeted, it took longer than I planned, and it was a bigger headache than I accounted for. But DAM was it fun

One more thing. I found out that I have a distributor for a 351 instead of a 302. I would ask if thats possible, but I already know

I did not think that a 351 dist would fit a 302.
But I'm glad the trucks running.

That's cool. Can't wait to get my truck back on the road. Seems they don't do so good with only 3 wheels attached.

After much hee hawing with the DMV, I finally got my tags.

MONDAY
I went to see about getting tags and they said they have to inspect it, so bring it here. I tell them I can't bring it there because I have no tags. Just use your out of state tags, they say. I tell them they expired nearly 14 months ago.

So.... I can't get it to them without tags and they won't give me tags without it being there.

They gave me a form to have a law enforcement officer fill out to verify that my truck is actually my truck that the title says that it is.

Have you ever tried to get law enforcement on New Years Eve?The police I did get through to said sorry, you're out of my jurisdiction. So I told them I can drive my truck to the fence line which is legally their jurisdiction. (10 feet on either side of the fence is legally theirs) You have to get the sherrifs office to do it.
*&^%$!!

Yesterday, I went and got insurance. They give it to me and don't ask to see the truck. I ask them if they want the receipts for the engine rebuild, and they tell me no. I think I am going to respectfully request that they add them to my file anyways.

Today, I drive my truck to the DMV expired tags and all. I figure if they (law enforcement) stop me I will just tell them the truth.

It all worked out in the end.

The truck had no getupandgo, so I messed with the timing and it is much better now

edit - the fence line is the north side property line for me. Just drive over the grass and through the field so I don't go on the road
