I'm trying to gather some info about 71's. Here's a VIN number. If anyone has a book and can decode this for me, I'd be greatful. VIN: 1U61H156040

Also any more info you can provide about 71's would be a help. Thanks.

Thanks for all info. I recently picked up a '71 ltd conv. for parts and yes the entire bumper and grille assembly bolted right in. see earlier post.
Gotstang, if interested, I still have the car, pretty much a shell right now, but all body parts, ex, bumper are there. Let me know if you are in need of anything for your '71. I am in central NJ.

I won't pick the car up until next weekend most likely. Everything on this LTD is pretty good. Little bubbly at one spot...some rust on the rear bumper...but it all looks fixable. I will keep you in mind if I find that I Need anything though.

Well Gotstang, you'll need an engine... Anything with C.J. after the number of cubes should work...

I dunno Max, I thought I'd just stick that ol' 4 cylinder in there out of my brothers project. Then again, there's always the possibility of a Twin Turbo, Fuel Injected 460. Which do you think it should have?

Hey Mike, Butch Renniger has a '70 and I think a '71 LTD shaggon wagon sitting in his junkyard if you find anything else you need..
He's kinda hard t catch up with so make a list and get all you can while you can... The engine is missing from the '70!!
