Hey guys,

First off I am in need of 1 14" wheel for a spare on my Fairlane. See wanted if have something.

Second, I am looking for suggestions for tire size for my future tires. Right now I ordered some Dunlop Qualifiers to get me by until next year. I ordered 215/70-14 for the front and 225/70-14 for the rear. The car has 235/60-14 retreads on it now. They are over 12 years old and have at least 95% tread (good indication of how little the car was driven). Aside from being 12 years old and dry rotting, and being retreads, they are to wide. The front tires rub on the upper ball joint and also on the frame when at full lock. So I am set for this year.

This winter I am going to buy some new rims and tires. I am thinking about Weld wheels. I know I am going to go with 15's but don't know what tires sizes to run front and rear. I am looking for something fairly wide in the rear. So what would fit? How wide should I go in the rear and what should I do in the front?

I have 215/70/14 on the back of my Fairlane now. I agree it needs size on the back. Im going to put 245/60/15's or so on there if I can afford the GT rims in 15inch, but they are chrome (yukkk). I just might get them powder coated Argent like my 14's, and put 215/70/14 on the front.

That car seems like it would take at least 245-60-15 maybe even a 295-50-15 rears and 225-60-15 fronts.

You'd need about a 15x8.5 in. rim with 4.5 in. backspacing. I had a set of 15x7 with 295 and they hit. They were on my Cougar for awhile, (the tires were, I used 15x8 rims on it), but sold the rims but not the tires, and put them on my 15 Magnums, but they rubbed. Go to 275/50's and they will fit on 15x8 with 4 in. backspacing. Dont quote me though, every car sits differentm, so try it out first

I have 295/50/15 on 15X10s(5.5 backspace) in the back and 245/60/15 on 15X8s(4.5 backspace) in the front on my 70 cyclone. The 245/60s are the biggest i have seen most people put on the rear of the smaller chassis cars(mustang, cougar, early fairlanes etc). With the new frontend i put in my car i should be able to go to Viper tires(275/40/17 and 315/35/17) on 17X9.5(5.25 backspace) and 17X11(6 backspace) once i can afford the $1000 per corner.
