I saw a 460 w/ a 4-barrel Holley and a C6. The owner was asking $140.00 for it. The starter is missing and the distributor cap has a crack. Everything else looks fine (externally). Will the starter from a 351M/400M bolt directly? I am planning to put this engine on my 68 Torino GT Fastback. Can the stock suspension of the Torino handle the WEIGHT of the 460? What mods are needed if ever? Thanks.

I replaced the 400 in my '78 F-150 with a 429 and used the 400 starter. That was in 1987. It still starts.
You will need '70-'71 Torino upper brackets that bolt to the motor. Crites Restorations sells them. Use the '70-'71 Torino 429 '(67-'70 Mustang 390/428) rubber mounts and '66-'69 Torino small block chassis brackets.
The car will probably sit lower and hit the bump stops on hard braking with small block front springs.. Everything else should hold up.

Tracy, the car originally has a 390 so I suppose the springs will hold. Thanks a lot.
