WOW!! I like the color. I want to paint mine a shade of blue also. I just have to change it from the ugly poop brown color it is now. Are those original bucket seats in your car? well i broke my thumb about three years go and just got it fixed into a cast so i wasnt a working hand in the disc conversion but i sure can report how its going. all of the braking stuff went on perfectly except the porportioning valve, all the tubing and fittins are all messed up.hey mr. bowden, cant wait til we come up there, your mav looks great, even my mom likes it you need to say "hey scott why dont you come up here next weekend?" in the next month or two because my dad will keep putting it off for the whole summer and say oh no i forgot to make plans with my maverick buddy up in conn. so words of advice are to pin my dad up against a wall or it will never happen because things tend to pop up in his life to occupy his time p.s. the sooner the better!!! ------------------ Todd S. im the tod in todmeg waiting for the right TWO door

Hey!! That looks really sharp...I had a 1973 Maverick when I was 17 yrs. old...(1981) Bought it for $250.It was a 302 2bbl.(low compression for that year 7.5-8.0to1)It was dark green with puke green interior...yuk!!Being a youngster,I was seriously low buck and couldn't modify. wish I had it now!!) Did you paint it yourself? Was it single stage enamel or 2-stage urethane? Did you use an HVLP gun or a standard gun? I'm going to paint my '83 Mustang GT and I hope it turns out at least as good as yours... When I sprayed the primer on my Stang with a standard Craftsman gun,I think more went in the air than on the car...mixed at a 1 to 1 ratio, it took a gallon of primer, and a gallon of thinner to do 1 coat...? Would appreciate any info or painting tips...Once again, very nice job...

Thanks for the kind works! I did not paint it! A friend of mine owns a body shop and he did the paint work. I did do all the bodywork!! It was primed with a epoxy primer sealer and the paint is Shermin Willaims 2 stage paint! Not sure on there spelling!! The color is very close 98 Dodge Ram Daytona Blue It is just a bit darker! That was the base we took the mix ratio from. As Far as mixture for primer and paint I Have always gone by the mix and let it drip off the stick way. I would think you had it a bit to thin by the sound of it? Did it go on dry and ruff? or your spray pressure was to high? 1 stage is cheaper but 2 stage is alot more forgiving! I have done alot of work to it sence those pics. It has a new black interior a grabber console with a clock and soon to come is a 325+ horse 302 with a T-10 four speed and a 9"rear with 3:55 gears. I have all the parts,I'm just waiting for my Short block to be Bored,Decked and the crank to ground! Then I get to put it all together! Oh And new front springs with reenforced lower control arms! and a big fat sway bar! If you go to the photo gallery there are some better pics! They show the paint a little better! But none of the pics really look as good as the car does in person!

That is real cool. I remember having AC/DC and Waylon on 8 track in my first car with a 40 watt Power booster going to 6 X 9s in the rear deck lid. My how things have changed.... I gotta get me an 8 track player at the next swap meet.
