For anyone wanting to make the 6-8 swap let me tell you about my latest experience.

It all went so easy it was like I had done it all the time, and for the record I have never done a v-8 swap in a Mav. I had a 73 Comit parts car with everything there! So that made the parts easy to find! The main things that I see you need to do this swap are the motor mounts, cross member, shifter linkage,(the six linkage wont work)! I had to change the gas pedal so I could use the comit cable. I was able to use the original tranny mount but I will be putting the one from the comit in after a few modifacations to it! I think the reason it don't fit right in is because my car is a 69 1/2 model? I had to relocate the altinator to the block instead of the bracket that was there and use a fan pulley from a 68 stang with a 289 and no power steering to get the belt lined up right! My car doesn't have power steering.
I had to use the radiator from the Comit becouse the water pump was one of the ones that come out on the driver side of the car for the bottom hose. That means when I have the time I'm going to buy the aluminum one for a late model t-bird and put that on there for the looks of it!! The plug for the wiring is the same but there are 2 other wires that I didn't hook up yet? They go to something on the carb I think but it don't seem to effect the way it runs? Even the holes for the cross member was threaded and just waiting to be used!! I think ford had this setup in mind right from the start?
