spent God only knows how long trying to get my passenger side header in there. t'is a much tighter fit with an AOD. I'm going to have to bend the bottom of the tranny pan and possibly the edge of one of the corners of the tranny. did I mention I'm tired? only got one side on tonight, got started too late, but it would be a perfect fit if I were still using my C4.------------------ 74 Mercury Comet 302 AOD 3:1 Will the 302 built properly this summer? wish I knew... http://members.tripod.com/red74merc

got both in there, fit is great except for the driver side collector is on the tranny crossmember. the headers are in the way of the tranny linkages, would fit great if I'd have kept the C4, except for the crossmember.overall, they're great... but a royal pain in the arse to get in there...

Sounds like headers to me Its terrific that they fit with your AOD, even if it was much more a a hassle.

have any experience with cable tranny linkages? what is the name of that company that has the AOD linkages/tv cables for AOD conversions?

Probably my weakest area is automatic transmissions, since I love manuals so much. I've adjusted factory TV cables but not much else. Have you tried Windsor-Fox?

just did, looks like they have what I need. I hope... now, just need to sell 20 pints of blood to get it. all my $$ went into the headers... alas, life is expensive...

for the trouble I'm going to have getting any headers to fit, I'm not going for the small gains of shorties. plus, as Charlie said, shorties are not widely available, nor will the ones you get usually fit without modifications to the engine compartment. and shorties will completely knock out the use of my column shifter. had I kept my C4, I would have nearly no fit problems at all, I got headers for a modified car, thats where the trouble lies.
