just curious i have a holley four barrel, with vaccum secondarys, i think it is a 600cfm, and it has no choke, first off how do i identify the carb, and where can i buy a choke, preferably electric for it, and also curious if i can adapt it to the stock two barrel until i get a manifold and who sells the adapters? any information will be greatly appreicated by your fellow maverick lover. thanks

there should be numbers on the top passenger side of the carb, about 4 to 6 digits. dunno about the choke, I never got around to fixing mine... it isn't worth adapting to the stock 2bbl intake, it won't run as good as a stock 2bbl would, but they probably have them at Carport or somewhere similar.didn't notice at first, welcome to Mustangsandmore! ------------------ 74 Mercury Comet 302 AOD 3:1 Will the 302 built properly this summer? wish I knew... http://members.tripod.com/red74merc [This message has been edited by 74merc (edited 05-05-2001).]

thanks for your help 74merc the only numbers i found were as follows: 1)6r4208- that is stamped close to the main venturis on the passenger side 2)LIST-8007/2799- this is stamped on the primary barrel( front part of the butterfly opening)on the drivers side.the only other numbers on this thing are the patent numbers on the front fuel chamber. as far as adapting it i will stick with stock then first time building a muscle car, so fuel systems are still kinda new to me. i work for the local ford dealership as a line tech for vehicle driveability problems, so i dont get to work on the good old muscle cars a hole lot. thanks alot guys

Welcome to M&M!The List # is how you identify it. Holley.com has a section where you can look up the List # and ID your carb. The 8007 is a 390 cfm 4160 4bbl. I wouldn't use this carb on anything larger than a stock six cylinder. You can get an electric choke kit for it at places like Summit. ------------------ '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC {Wife's car...} All Fords since 1977 [This message has been edited by SteveLaRiviere (edited 05-06-2001).]
