I just got finished taking a blue 2003 Mach 1 for about an hour test-drive. That car is much better than I anticipated. I have always been disappointed with the lack of low-end 'grunt' availible from the 4.6, even in the Cobras.(not the supercharged ones-those rock!). An aquantence has a 'Bullitt', and it is surprisingly torquey, much more than a stock GT, but still a little soft. However, the new Mach is fabulous. Gobs of low end power, and it keeps making power for right on up the tach. I was curious to see how the 'flapper' inside the shaker operated, as there is an obvious 'bump' in the shaker-surround to make room for the mechanisim. That thing is bolted down securely! I looked at it for a few minutes, and it would probably take a few tools and about 15-20 minutes to get it off! That should cut down on theft. Both the cars they had in stock(the other was grey, looked great)were stickered around $29,000. I may end up getting one, but I haven't decided yet. Whoever does buy one will undoubtedly be very happy with the power. It's the best driver of all the 4.6's yet!(not including the supercharged one-it rocks...oh, I said that already)

That sound really cool. But I,m surprised they let you take it for that long of a drive.Around here you usually have to put a deposit on a performance car like that before a test drive. They do that to avoid "JOY RIDES"

I don't abuse others cars, and I have a pretty good relationship with upper magt. at the dealer. They trust me. I have bought several vehicles through them.

Yes, I think I am really warming up to it. The cobra is too pricey, and since I ain't going street racing, I should save the $7,000 differnce. At last nights cruise at Old Town(in Kissimmee), I displayed the 71 brochure and the new 2003 brochure , both with the Mach 1's, and a surprisingly large amount of onlookers were very interested in the 2003. It is not really all they well known outside of enthusiasts circles.

There are a lot of mach 1 guys here. It's not a seven thousand dollar difference. More like 4. Don't get ripped off. ...And its worth four. You can try and find the shaker hood in your rearview.

$29,330.00 for the Mach, and about $36,000 for the Cobra in our area sounds like around $7000 to me. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, and FordRamAir.com

$33,000 in my area. It may be worth the drive. I had several cars to choose from.
