Holy Cow!

In the the March Motor Trend the cover car is the new Cobra! They popped a supercharger similar to the Lightning's and this baby cranks! Estimated horsepower is 390 hp @ 6000, 390 lbs/ft @ 3500! The new Cobra will also come with a 6 speed and 3.55 gears.

It will be speed limited to 155 mph, because they say although the car will go 175 mph, without the 2000 Cobra R type wing, it becomes airborn!

It has a new front facia that looks pretty cool, and the engine compartment looks KILLER!!!

Projected price will be $35k which is a bargain for this level of supercar!

Projected availability date is around May/June.

Line up, sign up, today!

John Coletti is a genius!

Yeah, from what the article said, it's the 2003 Cobra.

This is just too cool.

First the Lightning, then the 2003 Cobra, then the GT-40...

I definitely need more income!

It was originally to be called "The Terminator Cobra", but rumour has it that it will simply be a COBRA. FORD does not want to have to pay royalties to ARNOLD for using the name like they had to pay Warner Brothers and the McQueens for using BULLITT.

That's one bad-mutha of a car!

I like the sound of 390hp and a supercharger with a factory backing. I don't have 35k to put out for a new one but I'm still breaking in my old one.

One thing interesting in the article is the fact that they had to use the standard 4.6L cast iron block because they were grenading the aluminum Cobra blocks in dyno-testing. They will use Manley connecting rods, the crank was strong enough to use.

I'm new here. I'm just wondering if anyone other than a real driver like Moneymaker can hook up 390hp with the 17" tires and IRP?
Has SVT gone too far?

I missed a key. I'm questioning the independant rear suspension on the 03' Cobra.

Hell no!

It's about time Ford is actually putting out their own factory sports car with that much power, rather than farming it out to Roush or Saleen or Steeda or...

They just need to keep following their own suit now.

I searched high and low and came up with this link:

http://www.svt.ford.com/flash/index.html

Ford seems to have the best info. Complete with specs. Check out the 360 degree view too!! Make sure you open the hood!!
