I am thinking about taking the rims off that I have (17" split 5 spoke) and replacing them with a decent looking set of steel rims to put snow tires on. Does anyone have any suggestions? Places like Fleet-Farm and Autozone have rims for really cheap, but they would look really lame on the car. Would a standard steel Ford rim do the trick if I painted it up? Get wide ones in the back, and skinny's up front? I would like to get creative, not spend a ton of cash, and use the rear rims in the summer for slicks or drag radials. Kind of a dual purpose rim so that I can keep a good street tire on my 17" rims and not use them on the track or in winter. I would love to get creative and have a tough looking winter GT! Thanks in advance...............

As I'm sure you know, being from WI, the best winter tires are tall and narrow, both front and back. You have to slice through the snow instead of trying to float on top of it.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC Be American, Drive American!
