Guys & Gals, since the 95 got hit on the passengers side Peg has been thinking about having the '95 vert repainted (orginal color Laser Red).he does have the normal dings and straches that 5 years bring.the question..and thought on what it would run...been awhile since I had one painted. sam/peg

Laser Red is one of the most expensive colors I've been told by my Ford body shop. I was told its a multi-step paint process with a pearlescent coat in-between and that it can be hard to get a perfect match unless the entire car is painted. Bottom line is that the paint itself will be more expensive and it will be more labor intensive due to the multistep process required. I learned all this when my wife had a mishap that damaged the front bumper cover. It was going to cost $350 to fix and they had to paint the entire bumper cover to get a reasonable match. He said that unless it was done right, it could look like it matched inside but would not when it was taken outside - therefore they would have required me to leave the car off for 3-5 days to ensure they got it right. The body shop manager actually talked me out of it as he said I did a decent job fixing it myself and I might as well wait to get some more marks, scratches and other stuff on it before going through the expense. Since you want to paint the whole car, that shouldn't be a problem. It'll likely be expensive and you'll want to make sure you pick a shop that has a real good reputation for painting and experience with colors like this. ------------------ Joe C. 2000 V6 Convertible

Well the price is $1400 for the 95 which seem reasonable to me since it is a 3 step paint. She'll go in Tues of next week and be in the shop for 2 weeks and back in thime for the 35th The matching of colors was a problem...few weeks ago the vert was hit by a Datsun and damaged the passengers door and right front fender and lest not for get the scrap on the bumper cover I put there. Our Dealerships Body Shop will do the work, they do quality work and I have been well taken care of by them in the past. sam

Glad to hear that the paint job is within what you expected. I've never had a car painted, so my input would have been pure speculation.Mike

Just a quick update: we dropped off the 95 tues. nite and will get it back in appox 2 weeks. I gotta brag on our dealership (again) .When we pulled up the Sales manager spotted us and came out to say hello. Dennis was wondering why I hadn't been by to buy my "new" Bullet Mustang..LOL..I informed him the 95 was paid off and had on plans to "turn it in" for another. He asked if the quote incl'ed the pinstriping and "Mustang" on the rear. When Peg said she wasn't sure he took the papers the Body Shop have given her and worte "Replace PinStripe & "Mustang" on rear..FREE OF CHARGE!!" Can you bet this..now if the paint job comes out a good as the repaired AeroStar did I'll be happy!! sam PS anyone looking fo a Bullet our dealership has one more coming in Blue in color. Sam, Thats great news about the paint job. Sounds like your dealer knows how to take care of good customers. No about that 'Bullet' that your dealer has...what caliber is it? It would make more sense for him to have a True Blue BULLITT. You know you want one... ------------------ Mike M&M Member #9 2001 Bullitt #172 Dark Highland Green "Is that Black Charger following me?"

That's really cool, Sam! It's nice to see a dealership take care of their customers that way! It sure makes it less painful to spend money there!Stewart
