I am not 100% satisfied with the way the wife's 2000 GT shifts. I am an old 4 speed guy and I am having trouble getting a good quick shift when driving her car. Have any of you experienced this and what if anything have you done to help it. Anyone installed one of the aftermarket shifters like the 5.0 Pro or the Steeda shifter. I am used to the old Hurst Comp Plus that was in my Boss 302. I just cant get a good shift with this thing.------------------ Scott Akom 65 Coupe (Modified) 68 Coupe (Son's) 2000 GT Conv. Scott, I've talked to a few different people who swear by both the Pro 5.0 and the Steeda Tri-Ax. About the only thing I've heard is that if you're a tall guy, it might be difficult to comfortably reach 3rd and 5th, because you would be sitting with the seat all the way back. The Pro 5 has two different heights to choose from, but the Steeda only one. Supposedly, the Pro 5 is built stronger, but if it's for daily driving and not dragging, they should both be comparable. Me? When I get around to that change, I'll be going with the Pro 5. Stewart IP: Logged |

I have to agree with Stewart here. Everyone that has the Pro 5 loves it. I haven't heard a bad thing about em yet. Mike IP: Logged |
