I notice many of the aftermarket intake manifolds do not have a rear crossover water passage. I'm wondering just how critical it is to engine cooling. Have small blocks always had a rear crossover water passage port cast into their heads?

It's been discussed several times over in the "Ford Racing" section.

THe rear crossover was an 80's addition.
