Just as long as you're keeping that Capri looking like a Capri...

Basically everything should be swappable, it's only a matter of how much work you want to put in it. What is it you're planning on using it for? Rearend will be a direct swap, you can swap the entire front suspension, brakes, etc.

Mike's 79 Capri was a 4 banger 4-speed car, and when his 86 GT met a horrible death by the hand and gas pedal of an old woman (named Alice Pickle), he did the big swap.

Anyway, here's a little run down of what he ran into:

Hope that helps.

thanks evlgt85, that was very informative. no no no no no no no no no never will i change it to a mustang. mustangs are verry cool but everybody in the world races one. i like to be just a little bit different. my car is complete and racing. just thought i might get the 87 for emergency parts. btw what rear end should the 87 have in it? i liked your 79-86 website. would like to send info on my car but could not find e-mail add.
thanks a bunch, mike

one more question. why are fox bodies sometimes refered to as 79-86 than again 79-93?

Glad to be of help!

All 79-93 Mustangs are Foxes. As a matter of fact, so are Fairmonts, Zephyrs and some others. It's the name Ford gave the common platform that all those cars share. The SN 95 platform, or the 94+ are sometimes referred to as Fox4s.

If the 87 is a V8 car, then it should have an 8.8 rearend.

I've got a little tiny link on my site to my email...you can send stuff to [email protected] if you'd like to submit. Due to computer failure, it'll probably be a little while, but I'll certainly add your car!
