ok my car is a 1980 capri with the front and rear bumper and hood and hatch and rear windows of a 1992 or so mustang Lx 5.0... ok i have just came to a very big problem... i cant get the car e-checked!!! no one beleaves its a capri! and the cops are trying to indite me fer changeing the vin. when i havent... its a capri but no one beleaves me. hasn anyone here ever converted a capri into a stang. and have you ever had the same problem? and if so what did you do about it? cuz its not in my budget to convert it all over to a capri agen if i can pay to get it out of the inpound. (got pulled over. and cops didnt beleave it was a capri so they towed it)

There's a Capri running around town here with Stang taillights, decklid and 1/4 windows. I don't believe the owner has any trouble with the local law enforcement.------------------

yeah i pointed out to the cop that it had the capri fender flairs. hmmmm then i guess the cops in bedford ohio are pricks hehehe.

welll havent gotten floor bords yet cuz of this lil problem hehe. ummm and the vin on the dash is still there and has never been tuched and i even checked it. it sez its a capri. and i am just about to make some calls about getting the car back.. as far as i here.. i need to get another title but with out a typo saying its a caprice! lol. and then they want proof that its a capri. so i have a pic of my capri and my 88 gt side by side so i can explain the diffrences. and my lawyer is getting a ford dealership to send in a afadavid explaining what makes it a Capri and noit a stang. OI! the trubble i gotta go threw with this! hehe welp gtg gotta make them fone calls.------------------

Uh, don't these idiots know anything about VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS???? Morons.BTW, do the Capri a favour, and turn it back into a Capri. Poor thing has to hate life as a Mustang wannabe.  I'm sure if you get the car back, I can find you ppl who would be willing to help make it back into what it should be. Sorry, but it really sickens me to see something as cool as a Capri be made into something it's not.

i did manage to get the car back after the cops had there car expert check it out. so they finaly desided to beleave me. but now im working on getting the e-check ppl to beleave me! hehe. and sorry this may just be my personal opinion but i like how it looks as a mustang. cuz it kinda reminds me of a saleen mustang cuz of the fender flairs it gives the car a nice stance. well anywho i gtg ill keep you guys filled in. cyaz.------------------

woah sorry for the way late post. got the car outta the inpound. fixed everything up. and called up my lawyer and had him talk to the e-checks head boss person. and they sed they will e-check it. so i goto e-check. (driveing with illegal tags) they wont e-check it again! But then i told them that i had my lawyer talk to ther ehead boss about it and he sed that that they will e-check it. and then i sed if u dont beleave me u can call up my lawyer right now to talk to him. and that shut them up. lol and they e-checked it... it passed (pritty close to failing) thank god they e-checked it as a V* not a v6 like it was from the factory. and now i have legal plates for it and have been driveing it around every day. no legal problems with it yet hehe. well also havent been pulled over yet... been folowed by a cupple cops tho.. hehe welp theres the heppen ending to my lil problems with my MUT hehe.
