I have a '90 5.0 HO but the computer blew up. I was wondering if there were any major differences in the 5.0 HO EEC's and the non H.O. EEC's. My local wrecking yard has no idea but their price for the HO computer is higher. Please help me

You can get a rebuilt EEC from Autozone, or most national stores for around $110-130 += a few dollars, and you will need your old one for a core, they also sell them with a lifetime warranty. I had to do this with my 90 GT mustang, and the first EEC I got lasted only about 2 months, but they exchanged it without any questions, and its been working good 7 months so far.

The nonHO EEC is a different firing order and over and above that is 99% chance it is a speed density. Also, it'll most likely be looking for alarm systems, air bags, different places for a fuel relay etc...

I know, I'm running a nonHO 5.0L EFI speed density '89 Town Car engine in my '89 Mustang LX, it has the 302 firing order (non HO, 351W firing order).

Are you joking? The firing order has to do the the fuel injectors as well as spark.
