I know we have been through this all once before, but since I still havent found any yet, I thought Id bring it up again. What about front Rotors. Any light weight stock factory stuff that is known about, or was it all the same??? I am hoping to lose some weight off the race car after NHRA Reduces my horsepower rating. (wishful thinking) Tony.

Don't know about light weight(unless you go bear or something like that, but then your talking big bucks). I suppose you could go slotted? And as for the rear, why not just convert it to disk? They work better anyway. You wouldn't really want aluminum drums. Aluminum warps far to easy, and under all the heat from heavy brakeing, you would have warped drums in no time. Something that isn't really all that fun. I would just swap the rear out to disk if you can afford it, get 73mm calipers for the front off of a lincoln mark 7, and throw some slotted rotors up front with some high temp wheel berrings. But in all seriousness I don't think you'll find aluminum drums anywhere simply because they would warp so easily. Besides, the amount of weight that would save you would be negligable, and hardly worth the price you would have to pay for the drums if you ever did come accross any. ------------------ -FISHTAIL 92GT "The Ghetto Sled" CMPS major @ University of MD college park Best run so far: 14.74 @ 100.3mph....damn wheel spin. I dont go to discs because they are not legal for NHRA Stock eliminator racing. Thats why I want the Alum drums. There is no heavy braking, and it removes rotating weight. Same reason I asked if anyone knew about the fronts.Tony.

The late '70s-early '80s Regals had aluminum rear drums. We were changing them right and left. People would lock the brakes up and egg-shape them. They were light, though. ------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773 Have rice for dinner, not transportation!

Capri you probably know this but it was brought to my attention that the 79 Pace cars had aluminum drums. D9 number makes sense....
