What would you all suggest a person do to get some more power from the GT40P longblock that is only rated for 215hp? How much lift are those heads set up to handle.Later Boss66

The GT40 Longblock is basically a 85-95 Mustang 5.0L with GT40P heads, all mods for those engines apply.. The pistons are cast (hyper-whatever ) and the cam is roller, I don't know if the rocker arms are 1.7 or 1.6 (the Cobras were 1.7 but I don't know about the explorers, which use the GT40P heads). I'd put a B303 or E303 cam with 1.7 rockers if it doesn't have 'em already. ------------------ -Charlie Ping 1970 Maverick Grabber -1987 5.0L B303 roller cam/rockers -1968 Mustang Toploader -1977 Lincoln Versailles 9 inch w/discs -1980 Granada Front Discs www.MAVERICKGRABBER.com

You can do just about anything in the world with that combination, just like a regular 5.0 motor. Im sure you got the piston to valve clearence specs when you bought the thing. You can go larger on the cam, and add the rest of the goodies too. Its a pretty stout bullet as it is right out of the crate.Tony.
