Well, the Stormin Normin hood was mounted but it needs to be shaved. Cervini's assured me that the hood is manufactured to OEM dimensions, but I really wasn't surprised that it needs to be shaved down. When I did my research on the hood, I found many testimonials regarding their hoods. There were a few guys that needed to do some partial shaving, and others that didn't. So it didn't surprise me or bother me when I found out mine needed it too...especially because the hood is awesome! In fact, that's the one common denominator with all the people who have purchased Cervini's products (especially their hood's). They all feel the Cervini's parts are excellent, and have impecable craftsmanship. I concure. Now, the Stalker urethane front facia is another matter. Big problems there. I'm going to have to call them and ask about this because while the quality of the part is superb, it doesn't fit. All the mounting holes match up. and everything looks great, except it won't "fit" up to the car on the drivers side because of one area that doesn't seem to be cut out properly. As you look at the right side (drivers) while standing in front of the vehicle, just off center about halfway to the headlight, there is a black box mounted to the radiator support. It has an electical connection leading from it to the wiring harness (sensor for the air bag, maybe?). This box has a matching cut-out in the Stalker facia, however it isn't a deep enough cut-out. This in turn keeps the drivers side of the facia away from the fender, where it attaches. The facia can be forced to the fender, but then the whole facia distorts and buckles. If I make the cut-out deeper, it looks like it would be too deep, and be too close to the bend of the facia. I'm afraid that if we cut that part deeper, it would cause a weakness in that area because it's so close to the 90 degree bend, and in the future would start to buckle, distorting the facia in that area. I'm going to call Cervini's in Monday, but I was wondering if any of you guys have any advise. I don't know if you called them yet, or what they said. I know on the hood on my truck the fit is pretty good, but the gap between the fenders and cowl are a little wide. But it did bolt in where it was supposed to. The tech guy will probably tell you what to do. I had to call him on mine because it didn't have any holes for my hood springs, and he told me it was because you don't use hood springs with a fiberglass hood. I had to order a prop rod from a Mustang. Not complaining, but it would have been nice to know beforehand so I could have ordered it, and not had to wait. Let me tell you, a fiberglass hood without a hood spring on an F-150 is heavy! ------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773

Give ya a workout just lifting the hood, eh Steve? Yes, I called them. They told me it's okay to shave the parts...that it wouldn't void the return policy. I told them I wouldn't want to return them because I love the way the parts look. I told them all I would want would be an exchange if I couldn't get the part to work. They said no prob! BTW, the gap between my fenders and hood are PERFECT. Cervini's really does one heckuva job with their craftsmanship. Stewart

You know the funny thing is that before I got that hood, I always assumed fiberglass hoods were lighter than steel hoods. ------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773

I think they are lighter Steve...but not by much. I could be wrong, but I didn't notice a real big difference when I lifted my new hood after it had been attached.Actually, you have me wondering now! I'm gonna have to do the "hood lift" excercise and check myself. I was expecting something lighter too, now that you mention it... Hmmmmm, Stewart

My bodyman weighed mine. The fiberglass was heavier. I can't remember what the difference was...------------------ SteveLaRiviere/Webmaster -- MCA # 47773

Eh, sorta. The main problem I first brought up was solved. Part of the facia was shaved to allow proper fitting. But unfortunately, the part is definitely not to factory specs. The facia doesn't fit like a glove, and the fender lines don't match exactly as well as I had hoped. Plus, the running horse insert doesn't align with the predrilled holes in the front. That's the most exasperating thing. I can understand the part not fitting perfectly and the lines not matching with the rest of the "factory" parts, but one would think that Cervini's would make sure they would drill the holes in the proper spot to allow for the correct fitting of their supplied front emblem! Don't get me wrong, the part itself, expecially the hood, is great quality and craftsmanship. I just have a problem with the facia fitting the way it should. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm not sure Cervini's will do anything for me because it's already been mounted. I'll probably call them next week. Stewart
