I have a 64 Falcon that I have stuffed a 351C/4v motor into. Now the fun happens when I want/need to replace the plugs or Headers gaskets. I have heard of (and have not found) a kit that allows you to move the shock towers out to give more room to get around the motor. the 64 Falcon is the same under the hood as a Mustang. Any Guidence in this area would be great.

I beleive what you are looking for is the kit to make a thunderbolt style engine compartment that Ford did to install the 427" FE engine. They did not move the shock towers ,but trimmed them back approx 2" this would work for you,Crites Restorations http://www.bright.net/~tbolt/ is one of the places that specelize in T-Bolts

My buddy went through this in the '70's back before these cars became collector items. He had a 64 1/2 K-model that he had just rebuilt the motor in. He got a little extreme one night racing another Hi-po and threw a rod. He dropped a 351-C in his car but trimmed the inner shock towers to clear the heads. He just blanked them off with flat steel after cutting them back. They weren't cut low where the A-arms connected, just above. Hope this helps. fordmuscle.com has an article about shoe horning a 460 in a 69 mach 1. they show how they cut the towers and still maintained the strength. look at www.fordmuscle.com/archives then scroll down to misc. i think it is the very last article. I am considering doing the same to my 70 coupe before we drop the 351 back in it !!good luck Gary

There is also a kit ,at least for 'stangs that lets you remove the shock towers and replace with a differant set up.
