Do you think a non gearhead girl would enjoy a second date which consisted of going to the Ford Nationals (at Maple Grove)...with the guy and his best friend ??? For about 8 hours of guy talk, smelling nitro methane, and fondling chromed "Go Fast" parts....

Second date doing something she isnt into with another guy there doesnt sound like a winner to me . ------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction 1976 Silverline Comoro 18' trihull ski boat, 188 hp 302 I/O, another toy https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Hey Tim...maybe I'm not talking about me.... Some of my buddies are using me to get free female advice..since my big mouth happened to mention this forum... Then again if it was about me...I would want any girl to visit "Eddie's World"...before I started wining and dining her... You know...find out quick..if you like the theater and craft shows....keep looking. If you can handle eating a burger with dirty hands, while holding a set of headers, she may be a "Keeper",,,, ------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red '02 GT, Torch Red "If I knew I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself !" there is nothing wrong with a date to the track.... but not with a third wheel.... and certainly not if your date is a 'girl' with no interest or with fake-interest in being there..... it will be a yukko-day for both of ya..... and your buddy may go down in a fast flame for being a part of it as well...... if your buddy and some others 'happen' to be there .... that is one thing but pre-planning on dragging her into the middle of a guy-day-out is not a second date.... it IS however a casual "hanging out with the guys thing"..... but NOT a date... just my two cents.... ME???? i would love to go to the track for the day with you EddieD.... even if your deadbeat buddy is hanging around... heh heh heh.... kk

I agree completely with KK. If she's not a gearhead grrl she will hate the track. If you're not sure if she's a gearhead grrl, you need to take her alone so you can answer all her ?'s and show her the fun side of racing. but she will feel like the 3rd wheel and the one being left out if she's not into it..Shell

exactly! if she is a girl who is truly interested in becoming a GRRL then having a one-on-one with you to explain the finer tips of track-stuff is the only way to go....
in other words... explaining breaking out and red lighting and dial-ins and the light system takes a LOT of patience with someone who is new to the racing experience... AND showing that patient sensitive side with all your buddies around is NOT conducive to you or your date having a relaxed casual time.... your buds will rib you for having to "explain" things to a girl and your date may be too embarrassed to ask questions in front of your buddies.... so both of you lose..... one-on-one is the ONLY way to go at the track until you guys establish and define your relationship.... who knows?? she may LOVE the track since you are so sensitive to making sure she understands how things work and you are so attentive to her enthusiasm.... AND you are getting her enthusiastic about BEING at the track so... shoot.... life is GOOD!!!! keep us posted.... GRRLS are always interested in a new project (heh heh... transitioning a girl to a GRRL is just as much fun as watching a rust bucket become a street-rod deluxe!!! heeeheeheheeeeee) kk

I say tell your friend "wink". Togo by the girls house 1st, before going to the track. Get it on with her,and then tell her YOUR going to the track with your friend. Best of all worlds, you get to see some racing and bust a nut too....SCOOP ------------------ 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Crager SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html

SCOOP...you sure have a way with words....and I like the idea....the girl in question did just happen to tell the mystery man... OH< I've been to Maple Grove, it was fun... Could be KK's "Fake Interest" radar working... KK...if I was going with you...THERE WOULD BE NO BUDDIES (DEAD BEAT) OR OTHERWISE HANGING AROUND... Just me, you and the smell of burning rubber !!!!! Did I say that ??????? I'll let you know what happens.....MAYBE !!!------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red '02 GT, Torch Red "If I knew I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself !" I actually took a girl who wasn't into cars to a drag race once. What a mistake that was! After about an hour she was "...ready to go now!" She said the noise was horrible, and the burnouts were "...the dumbest things she ever saw in her life!" ------------------

Well if it will make you feel any better...I heard a rumor that in the middle of some serious hanky panky...this mystery man yelled out the "OH DONNA !!!" Creating a problem, since mystery woman's name is not even close to that. Now I can't verify that statement...as mystery man, is pretty quiet about it...but does have a fat lip that looks like the result of a right hand slap across the mouth. ------------------ EDDIE D Resto Mod '70 Sport Roof Arrest Me Red '02 GT, Torch Red "If I knew I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself !"
