Does anybody know if a 302 or 351 and C4 can be installed in a '57 car w/o any permanent mods? It would only be temporary while I have the 312 built how I want it.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

Yup, pretty simple really. My buddy had first a 351C 4v, & later a 302 in his 57 Ranchero. He used 67-72 F100 PU mounts, which have a stud on the bottom. I think he may have needed a 1/4" thick washer between the stud & the engine crossmember, But can`t recall the reason. ------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker under construction, 302 5 speed 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd

Stock crossmember works also. We put a 289 and 4-speed top loader out of a 66 Mustang in a 57 Custom 300 back in the 70's. We used the stock exhuast manifolds too. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Right on! That means I can maybe drop in one of the spare 289-302's I got and get my '57 back on the street.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic
