Hey guys. I'm gathering parts to swap out the 2.8 and can you use any other exhaust manifolds other than the ones made for the 302 in a MII? I never knew there was a major difference until I saw a set on Ebay for sale. I've shoehorned a 289 into a Courier pickup and made stuff work. Will shorty's from a later model Mustang work? Headers for it will probably out of my price range for a while. Trying to do this one on a budget(aren't we all.....LOL)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fox Mustang shorties will not work  I would try to get some headers for your car. stock ford manifolds are really restrictive.------------------

How about the shorty headman they are around $99.00 from summit racing.I used #88640 for a 351w in a 65 stang.They really fit my car good and seem like they are closer to my block.SCOOP ------------------
