Has anybody ever had problems ordering from Rocko at CT Mustang II? I ordered the brushed aluminum dash insert from him back in August. When I got it, it would not line up over ALL the gauges and warning lights! I called him to let him know but could not reach him for 3 weeks. When he finally called me back he insisted that he has NEVER had anyone complain about these not fitting before. He even went so far as to imply that my dash must be warped!!!!! I insisted that I want my money back. He said return it in its original carton. I did just that. This guy had the nerve to call me around 5pm CST on Sept 11th to inform me that the box was creased! (couldn't he have waited a few days before calling me considering what happened on that day!!) He said that the insert was bent. I said that it was fine going out of here in the exact same carton he sent it to me in. So we hung up. I already purchased another insert from another Mustang II supplier since Rocko never got back to me in a timely fashion. This one fit like a glove! About 2 weeks later I got a package from CT Mustang. It was a box which contained the original box that I shipped him the "defective" insert in. Inside THAT box was the bent insert!! He did NOT refund me my money but instead sent the defective part back to me! I called him imediately and asked why! he said that because I did not insure the "defective" merchandise, he was not going to refund me. I told him that this was crap. W H Y would anyone pay extra to insure a defective part? I was already out of pocket for the return postage. He was not going to reimburse me for any of that! He is just using the insurance thing as a scape-goat! He was going to have to write off the dash insert as a loss ANYWAY! He could not simply put it back on the shelf and resell it (although I bet that was what he was going to do anyway)!! I called him to ask why he sent this back to me. As he tried to explain he actually started yelling at me! This clown was practically screaming at me and would always talk over me when I would try and get a word in edge wise!!! So I said in a calm voice (while he was still yelling his point about the insurance) that I was in the process of disputing this with my credit card, and hung up. This guy is a complete loser. What kind of business owner starts yelling at you? I did nothing to provoke him when I called. I was very calm because I knew that he would not want to refund me. Word of advice, do not order anything from this guy. His prices are too high anyway!!! I have always had good luck with Paul at Mustang II Specialty Shop. Marvin from C.A.R.S. was pretty much no better than Rocko. I orderd black interior body panels from him (fast back) and told him I needed them BEFORE the Labor day week end (I ordered the parts on Aug 14th.) so I could install them and show my car. He said he had the parts and just needed to find a box to ship them in. I called him 3-4 times before the Labor day weekend to see if he sent them. Well, I never got them. When I called him on Sept 5th, he said "So what do you want me to do, do you want them or not". I hung up on him at that point!

I've heard some similar stories regarding Rocco up there at CT Mustang. And several members on the MustangII.org mailing list aren't too happy with his prices/service/products either. Probably indeed best to avoid him. I've never personally had that kind of a problem with him, though I will say his prices are steep. Phil at Mustang II Specialty Shop has always been very good with my requests, prices are a bit more reasonable (as far as II stuff goes), and the parts are in good condition. Rebel Mustang wasn't all that, and I've only ever called C.A.R. Distributors. I do hope your situation gets resolved with Rocco. Good luck. ------------------ Frank S.----MCA Member 40390 '99 Mustang coupe '77 Ghia--"II Good" '76 Cobra--project

Rocco is a thief by all means,I live in CT.about an hour plus from him.I have mail ordered simple things from him several times and he sent me the wrong stuff,So I decide to go down there for my parts, maybe that way I would get what I need.I call him and ask him if he's got a 4 speed for a six cyl,He tells me "yes I got one thats been rebiult" Again I say to him"for a six"he says yes. Ok so I go down there,he shows me a tranny for an 8cyl.someone broke the bolts loose and sqweezed in some orange gasket seal and popped it back together,it was so obviuos its not funny, the seals were shot, the tail shaft moved more then any I ever say,and the oil was full of metal. I let Rocco have a big piece of my mind that day,I thought the man was going to drop,I was P.O..That man knows nothing about cars period. I will need to get some things for my II so if some one could leave me a # to a place that knows how to sell parts I would be very thankful.

Never had a problem with CAR Dist. Helpful and delivered on time.Do you realize how difficult those panels are to ship? Phil is OK, but prices are high, and packaging sucks. Sent me a louver in a box barely bigger than the part, and with next to no packaging material. Needless to say, it was broken. I would have thought that someone in the II business would realize how fragile they are. Not real fond of his sniping on the bay, either. We're all family of a sort, and while I have no qualms about paying more than someone else (or being outbid), waiting until the last 2 minutes before you bid is a true show of one's character. If you want it, bid your bid and get on with life.

"Not real fond of his sniping on the bay, either." Which one is he? I've been sniped out a couple times, and wondered who's the bitch.
