The actual temp of the intake??Another good question added to the "to find out" list. There is a coating called Gun Kote. Made for firearms. I hear one of it's properities is exceptional heat radiation. Another properity is it is about indestructable. I was looking into it for my Scooter. I was also thinking of powder coating but havent found good information on how well it gets rid of heat.

The temp. of the intake should be about the same as water temp (~200f). Are you asking if you need hi-temp paint? The painted cast iron factory units were fine but the alum. makes for some paint issues as far as sticking but if you wash it with solvent really well you should be okay
