i still cant believe this. i rarely drive the wifes stang,so this weekend when i had to run 2 errands for her (also fill the gas tank (!) and check everything on it)i noticed it`s overdue for oil & filter. well it worked out that i could use her car for a doctors appointment & i would stop and have it serviced. on my way home, stuck in traffic,i notice a "new ownership" sign at a small garage with oil/filter change for $14.99. i see only a mechanic and a clerk in the office so when traffic allows,i pull in. they greet me & ask if they can be of service. i ask for an oil & filter change. no problem,i`ll pull the car in while the clerk writes up the service card, says the mechanic. as soon as i sit down,i see i can watch just about everything this guy does from where i`m sitting. i must be nodding off cause i see him with a bottle of windshield washer fluid, just about empties it. whoa! i know its full,i just filled it saturday,so i go into the shop.1st,he tells me i`m not allowed in the shop.then i tell him he DOESNT know what he`s doing! why he asks. i say, CAUSE YOU JUST FILLED THE RADIATOR OVERFLOW CATCH BOTTLE WITH WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID!!!!! he stutters and says,oh,sorry,i`ll empty it right away. i stay by the stang & keep an eye on this guy. it takes about 5 minutes for him to find out he does not have a small enough wrench or socket to remove the bolt holding the plastic tank in place. he ends up using a vise grip!!! i can`t wait to get out of this place! a 15 minute oil/filter change ends up a 45 minute job! in case you are wondering, NO,I WONT GO BACK!!!!!!!------------------ 34 coupe powered by 351 c 4v keith

Its a shame though because you wanna give the small guys a chance to make a living. I had a local muffler shop make a new hole in my floor pans for a dual exhaust system to replace my single exhaust. They didnt use a drill they used a cutting torch. But they didnt take the back seats out. They melted through the seat belt and scorched the underside of the seat. I wont go back there either but at least I can say I gave the guy a chance and he blew it. If he goes under now he cant grumble about the chain stores putting him out of business... ------------------ '68 coupe 289 C code 66 heads, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust

ROTFL Phil thats a said story but FUNNY.I can just image your face when you saw your rear seat melted. I too have been burned by the big and small shops.I have found that a good shop is not cheap but they are worth it. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 2.26 60'S 14.9 @ 90.86MPH 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8"3.40 TracLoc,Cragar SS,Black Suede. https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/Fastymz.html
